n a opening of film the usaul order is that the intro is companied by the titles either with the titles over lapping it or after the intro. Sometimes the film starts off with a colour background with only the credits of the film then it starts. The opening of a film is usually a prediction of how the film will do and the pace of the film. The opening can be a sequence or a montage of the film, usauls a Horror/Thriller/Action use montage because it is fast paced, where as a comedy will try and make the frist scene as funny or entertaining as possible. When the titles come on there are usaully different company identity near it who are associated with the making of the film. The details are writing in small print below the title. Expersition its the order of things, whilst the main plot is going on the side plot is running along side it. The opening titles of a film usaully reflect how the rest of the film will be, they do this to show the pace and genre of the entire film. Sometimes the opening is a prelude which later ties into the plot and story or set the tone for the rest of the film, this is so the veiwer knows what the film will be like in terms of action and speed. Occassionly the film will have a unrelated scene in it which will set the main character onto the main story.

The opening scene of this film is very slow and involves the effect of some CGI. It starts off with the image of a feather floating about on the wind and then the first title pops up showing the studio’s “Paramnount PIcutres. The shot continues to follow feather being blown around in the air and in the background all you can see is the sky so far, and then the title “Tom Hanks in” comes up, then as the same shot carrys on the feather falls and the camera pans down to show a wide shot of a city or town and then the name of the Film appears ”Forest Gump”. The feather is still in shot and is still falling while numerous titles are coming up then eventually the feather lands on the foot of the the main character Forest Gump.

Film production workers use film editing to move around and rearrange clips in the oder desired. Editing is part of the post production process and is all done after filming has taken place. The director will get as much film as possible and then in editing they will not have the problem of not having enough.
during the editing process you can;
remove all unwated scenes, or footage
adding special effects
adding cuts and fades between scenes
creating a feel of continuity and a good flow between scenes
another type of editing is linear an non linear. non linear editing is when the scenes in the film are not in chronological order and are mixed up. linear editing is the complete opposite and when the scenes are in order.

microphones are used to capture the sound in film production. The microphones come in very different shapes and sizes. They are not only used in film production but in plenty asspects of life such as phones and computers. without a good blance of sound to it a film will sound very fake and a good balanced amount of sound gives the film alot more realism, also it takes alot of skill to capture the right amount.
There are a number of different microphones that are used. firstly there is the gun microphone which is used to capture sound that is rarther a far distance away. The gun microphone is perfect to use if you target is a far distance away because you dont need to hook them up with body microphones or use a boom and risk it being in shot.

The first ever projection film was filmed by the Lumiere brothers back in 1895. Even today in modern cinema we still use the basic idea of the lumiere brothers but a bit more complex. The first ever film they showed was a very simple one. It was plainly a train pulling into a station. To us now a days that seems incredible boring but at the time the viewers were terrified and sent them running out of the cinema screaming.
The first ever film to be produced with sound was called the jazz singer. It was released in 1927 but there was a big problem for the makers. The cinema’s at the time were not fitted to produce sound, therfore all the cinemas had to be upgraded so the new films could be shown. The film was called a talkie and was produced by the warner brothers stuio. once again all the people in the cinema were shocked because althought they could hear the characters speaking, they were not actually in the room.
The invention of the television people said was going to be the death of the cinema. Between 1952 and 1970 people could now get the amazing invention of moving images on a screen at home. people no longer wished to go out and pay money to watch films.
The main job of film production was to be the film producer. they are involved in all aspects of film production, eg editing casting, production, directing. overall they support and organise the running of the entire film. finally the producer is also in charge of the money in the film, for example where it is coming from and how it is spent. the money is usually invested in the film by large studio groups.
