lighting
Monday, December 7th, 2009the basic lighting scheme used in filming is a three-point system which is a key light, fill light and a back light. firstly a key light is the primary light in a scene that stimulates natural light e.g out doors or a light as a prop in a scene. secondly, a fill light softens the shadows craeted created by the key light . lastly the back light helps to out line a subject, usually placed placed behind or above the subject so tht the light doesn’t come directly into the camera. more extensive lighting systems include:
- eyelight- a small light used to reflect into an actors eyes to make a shine/ sparkle
- background light- light up the background of a set
- kicker light- similar to a back light, which helps seperate the subject from the background.
using these lighting techniques you can obtain many effects, by changing the intensity of light, duffuseness and position’s o light to get a full effect.
