Our main target audience for our film is aimed at students ranging from 15-22, more aimed at the higher end of students at college and university, I chose this audience because the parental guidence is a 15. Also because a younger generation has more taste in horror films, getting a kick out of fear and suspence. Our audience will have a taste in a modern world, listening to popular music in the top 40 charts and shop at places such as topman or topshop etc. Most teenagers up to young adults will watch TV, programmes such as reality tv shows like big brother, comedy and horrors which give them a distraction from everyday life. We took into concideration the use of the gratifications theory, making our film for a certain audience to please them through a horror film by building suspence and fear, giving the audience their fix of an adrenalin rush.

The first picture is our Establashing shot for our media project. This shot just shows you what is outside where we filmed and the surroundings of the place. In the last picture that we used there is one character holding a metal pole which we used as a prop, this was done to add tension in the scene and make it scarier. We used a different variety of shots whilst filming, some of the shots include, two shot, over the shoulder shot, pan shot and a shot reverse shot. The movie that we filmed was done in an abandonned building as we were filming a horror and thought that this would be the best place to make it scary and build up suspense. The opening of our movie sugests that the genre is a horror because the music builds up a suspense to make the audience think that something is going to happen and the building that two characters go into makes it seem that the movie is a horror. The characters in our film are introduced by fade in and fade outs throught the opening. We only used one special effect in our fim, this is when the character walks through the gap on the top floor when you dont expect anyone, what we did here was change the lighting as that scene was far to dark so we used the tools on Premiere to make the scene brighter.

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010I decided to compare our villain in our film to the villain in haloween, Mike Myers (pictured above) callum played the beast like villain in our film who is similar to the character in haloween. Both these characters are similar in appearance, both have a tall, built stature and look aggressive. The costumes they both wear are also similar, black dark clothing with a big hood up the only diiference is the character from haloween wears a mask to cover his identity, we tried keeping callums indentity unknown also but with out a mask but just with a big hood. they both play a similar role in both films, picking of victims one by one and killing them. They both have an intimidating presense in thier roles in the films.
