Envy
This film starts with a out of focus shot, then the title appears ENVY. A fade in of the girl then appears and we see a close up of her and it zooms in. A change of light then happens suddenly and the girl is in a different place, but it is another close up of her. We then see a close up of the boy – (who is her boyfriend), it then zooms out from him. The camera then goes back to the girl the camera then zooms in again while the girl is telling a story. The story then changes place and we see a long shot of the girl but it is a dark shadow of her. We then go to another character she is shown in a car as a close up. By now we have seen alot of close up’s, this shows us the characters expressions clearly which may be a reason why the director has done this. We then see a extra close up of another girl then of the phone this portrays the guilt she is feeling. There is then a close up of a car and a quick shot to the girl in it which shows her evil expression on her face. The music played is sad as this is the whole atomosphere we get from the film. There are also a few out of focus shots this shows the awcwardness of the film and how different people are telling stories. We then have some violence in the film, a slap and there is a very quick shot back to a extra close up of the girls eyes, which were evil like they were before. The ending is a medium shot of a glass smashing. We get the impression that one girl is nieve while another one is selfish who only really worries about herself. It is set in a few places, in a car, in a house, outside. The two girls come across as been quite rough just from the way they act and the places they are at.

Fence
This film starts with an establishing shot of a house and field, then a man walks into a shot with a little boy. The boy then walks out of shot and we see a medium shot of both people walking then the title appears FENCE. We then hear childrens voices and see children playing. We see a medium shot of the boy and man in a school. We can tell from the boy’s expressions that he is nervous and scared. We then think maybe it is because it his first day at school, we then get told this is why. There are many close up’s of the boys face which shows he is scared. The camera then goes onto the football and by the boys face we can tell he may enjoy the sport. There are many shots where the boy walks out of them. We then can tell that the film may be coming to an end as the boy stands by the fence looking out onto an establishing shot of some mountains. It looks like the boy is in a jail when he stands by the fence looking out, this gives us the impression he doesn’t want to be there. (It feels like a jail to him). The boy then digs to get out and we see a close up of him doing this. He then stands there and turns around to see a medium shot of all the children looking at him. It then goes to close up’s of their faces. It is silent at this point. It then finally goes back to a close up of the boys face and the film ends. This whole film has a sad atmosphere to it all the time. From the boy we get the sense he is a sad, lonely child. We don’t find out much about him only that that day was his first day at that school. He wears a big coat this could be to hide himself, we get the impression he doesn’t have many friends. There are many settings to the film, at the begginning walking from the boys house, then at the school.

This was a film for a man who had died it showed this at the begginning of the film. The film starts with a shot of just a girls legs and a picnic basket we can tell from the begginning that it is a hand held camera been used. You can tell this by the movement the shaky effects the camera has. At first you think the film is set in a field untill the camera pans round and you see a beach and sea just under where the couple is. You can also hear the wind and the sea, this is another reason how you can tell it is hand held camera and no one has had chance to edit the film. There is a wobbly zoom to some people with dogs while the camera is moving around the girland boy are having a conversation. The camera moves round and shows different people on the beach. We then see two men having an argument they are a long way from the camera but a long shot. There is very shaky movements from the camera still and out of focus shots. We then see a close up of the lead gril talking for a few seconds then a man comes into the shot and walks straight over to the couple. After this there is an argument and we see alot of the floor as the camera is not very steady at all. The camera is very shaky whilst the men are having the argument this builds up the tension until Simon falls off the edge of the cliff this is very sudden. The film then stops for a few seconds then it flash backs to his wedding a day before the death. The adds sadness to the film as we have just relised he got married a day before he died. The wedding is a happy atmosphere, then we have a shot where the camera pans round as the car drives off, this is the end of the film. At the end the credits come up and while these are on we hear people talking. The clothing the actors where are very casual as they are just out for a day at the beach. The girl is a very confident girl as she is the one who speaks the most just in general conversation. The men you could say were aggressive characters for having an argument/fight. The film was a sad film which came to a sudden stop at the end.

Light is used to create an image exposure on a frame of film. Lighting contributes considerably to the emotional response an audience has watching a motion picture. Lighting is important for the audience because a horror would have many dark moments in the film this would create a creepy/eary atmosphere that is needed to scare the audience and cause tension. Whereas a happy film would use many light scenes this would usually show the sun to create a happy atmosphere.
