Film opening analysis

Dawn of the dead- starts of with fast paced extreme close-ups of the zombies, then the voice over explains what’s going on this is then linked with real footage of riots mixed with the close ups of the zombies. The riots aren’t fast cuts but the close ups are. the music isn’t typical but gives the effect it’s actually happened.
the title finishes of with the end of a prayer.

The Ring – the title sequence uses a lot of black shots, the music starts of like a child’s sort of music then becomes more like heavy metal then goes back to the child’s song towards the end. most of it is black and white. theirs collages of random images that seem to mean nothing but are relevant to the film. the edits become fast through the title.

Panic Room – shots of the city with the titles just in the middle of buildings ect. Not really setting the scene or telling you what the film is about voice over from the opening scene at the end of the titlesall the titles set the scene slightly but keep a mystery about what’s happening or happened. music seems to be important to the mystery and setting the horror scene but nothing it given away about the film.
