Linear editing is a logical sequence, its about timing Non linear is when it does not flow in a logical fashion, it disregards time. A montage is when you can make a relationship between two separate shots that don’t neccarsarily make sense but make a different meaning, the order is not important. Points of view is when a shot shows you what emotion the character has or what the character is seeing.
