autumn task 1
1) The Lumiere Brothers created the worlds first public film which was screened on december 28th 1895. It was the showing of 10 short films lasting about twenty minutes. Their work was mainly moving images from scenes of everyday life. Their most famous scene was of the train coming in vertically.
2) The Jazz Singer was the first sound film. Becuase of the ‘talkies’ it made it harder and harder for the silent films to get released and viewings which was a big problem for hollywood. But by the late 30’s, 40’s hollywood improved with more dialogue and the invention of technicolour.
3) Vertical Integration means production, distribution and exhibition by the same company. So this meant that hollywood did everything for themselves without any other help from other companys.
4) In 1952 – 1970 there was the invention of TV which completely wiped out cinema.
5) The TV became mega successful starting off with more channels and showing of the queens coronation. More people chose to watch TV than go to the cinema as it was cheaper and in the comfert of their own home.
6) A film producer i someone who creates the scenes and the conditions of making the films. They also sort out matters such as raising money for the production of the film, and they will be there every step of the filming of the film.
